Markha Valley trek

Image
Quite uniquely the Markha Valley trek is set on a different kind of trail consisting of adorable Tea Houses as rest spots amidst the journey through cold dry Ladakhian deserts. The trek is 65 km long rising to an altitude of 17,060 ft above the mean sea level. The Markha Valley is a stunning river valley located in the Hemis National Park in the Ladakh region. Owing to the terrain of Ladakhian Mountains and high altitudes of this place this trek is claimed to be of a moderate difficulty. You might face challenges during this trek if you’re not acclimatized to the atmosphere of mountains in Ladakh. However there are spectacular views of the ranges and peaks surrounding Markha Valley. Some of the summits, passes and ranges visible during the trek through Markha Valley are the Kang Yissay peak at 21,000 ft, the Stok Kangri peaks at 20,086 ft, the Gondala La Pass at 15,748 ft, the Kongmaru La Pass at 17,060 ft along with other mountains in the Ladakh and Zanskar Ranges.
